Christopher DeCou, PhD is a Senior Fellow in Pediatric Injury Prevention Research at the UW Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center. He received his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Idaho State University, and his research and clinical interests are centered on the study and prevention of suicide, including suicide prevention among under-served and under-studied populations. Dr. DeCou’s research also seeks to address primary drivers of suicidality, such as depression, hopelessness, substance abuse/dependence, and trauma-related distress.
