Our Philosophy
The University of Washington Integrated Care Training Program (UW ICTP) educates psychiatric providers and other health care providers in evidence-based, integrated behavioral health care and Collaborative Care. We are working toward a time when all Washingtonians living with a mental health or substance use disorder have access to effective care, where such care is provided in an integrated and patient-centered way, where no one falls through the cracks, and where providers can be accountable for the overall health and well-being of the populations they serve.
We believe that training psychiatric providers and other health care providers in evidence-based, integrated behavioral health care and Collaborative Care will help us take a big step toward realizing this goal. This vision is in line with UW School of Medicine’s goal to improve the health of the public and with Washington State’s plan to fully integrate care for mental health, substance use, and physical health.
UW ICTP is a leader in helping psychiatrists and other psychiatric providers to partner with primary care providers and other health care professionals in primary care clinics, school and community health centers, rural hospitals, and correctional facilities. We believe the right training can dramatically shape mental health care delivery, and invite you to explore our exciting programs.
