M.J. Mariano, PhDis a staff psychologist at the Puget Sound VA Health Care System and Clinical Associate Professor in the UW Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.She has over 30 years of experience working with Veterans in a broad array of clinical programs and has focused interests in mind-body integration, health psychology, women’s mental health, transgender health, and trauma treatment. Currently, Dr. Mariano provides clinical services in the Seattle VA’s Women’s Health Clinic and Mental Health Clinic.She has provided clinical services to transgender Veterans for over 20 years and has facilitated a psychotherapy group for transgender Veterans for 14 years. In addition to direct patient care, Dr. Mariano develops and consults on treatment programs, provides supervision and training to a variety of health care professionals, and serves on several committees including the Puget Sound VA LGBT workgroup.
