Profile: Michael Silva, MD

Michael Silva is originally from Los Angeles, CA and earned his MD from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in LA. He then went on to family medicine residency at the John Muir Health Family Medicine Residency Program in the Bay Area in Walnut Creek, CA. After family medicine residency, he was a practicing primary care physician for 1 year before deciding to further his training and go to psychiatry residency at the University of Washington. While at UW, he became interested in pursuing a fellowship in addiction psychiatry during his 3rd-year rotation at the Addiction Treatment Center at the Seattle VA. Now here, he couldn’t be happier. He also has 3 dogs, a loving partner, and is president of the UW Network of Underrepresented Residents and Fellows (NURF).
